Control Risks’ first aid at work course
Control Risks delivers first aid courses for corporate groups and private individuals to give first aiders the skills and ability to deliver immediate attention for minor injuries and illnesses and guidance for seeking professional medical assistance in more serious cases. The course has been designed with the security professional in mind, and is ideal for individuals seeking employment or currently employed within the security industry working in a hostile or remote environments.
The course goes beyond basic first aid and CPR to cover the more serious injuries which you may have to deal with as a security operative including head injuries, trauma care, ballistic injuries, casualty handling and handover information. On completion of this course, participants will be taught the required skills and ability to deal with casualties, providing basic life support until specialist help arrives.
First aid for close protection officers
In order to obtain a licence, the SIA requires all close protection officers operational in the UK to hold a valid first aid certificate accredited by either IHCD or the Health and Safety Executive (HSE). Our First Aid at Work course covers all elements required by the HSE, and in conjunction with our close protection course qualifies attendees to apply for an SIA licence.
Training scenarios
Participants will have the opportunity to test their skills, ability and management of scenes through our realistic situation awareness training. Our structured trauma scenes with professional moulage and actors, consolidate practices taught throughout the course.
Our instructors
All of our instructors have a background of practical experience within the medical sector including paramedics, special forces medics and specialist doctors. Through our experienced team, we are able to deliver first aid training worldwide.
Training facilities
Our monthly First Aid at Work course takes place on our secluded 1,000 acre estate, allowing privacy and opportunity for life like practical scenarios. On site accommodation and catering are provided in luxury cottages.
