Case Study: Protecting personnel in Nigeria

Our client, a large oil producer has a significant operation in Nigeria. Because of the current threat in Nigeria, they were concerned about the security of their personnel, and about their executive protection officers’ ability to deal effectively with a serious incident. They approached the Control Risks training team to provide close protection training for a number of their residential police officers, who would be employed as specialist executive protection officers for the company across Nigeria.

Over a period of 3 months Control Risks delivered our 15 day SIA level 3 course for 35 officers at our UK training facility. Following the course the officers sat the SIA examination, which all 35 officers passed and were awarded the BTEC level 3 in CP operations. The client is now confident in the knowledge that their employees are better protected and they are fulfilling their duty of care obligations to them.
